"Then Jacob was ygreatly afraid and distressed."
Chapter 32 seems to follow a consistent narrative in the
O.T. God has been faithful in His
promises, but circumstances come that cause them to fear and doubt the
future. Jacob calls on God to be
faithful to His promises and then comes up with a very detailed backup plan.
I was thinking it can be hard for us to
balance the difference between good preparation and trusting God. It seems we are pretty hard on the God's people in the O.T. when they lack faith in God’s plan. We do the same thing, don’t we? Maybe you could comment on some of the truths
that we know to be true but struggle from time to time to live them out.
