Psalm 117-118

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?...It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.
 Psalm 118:6, 8-9

Throughout Scripture God is continually reassuring us to not be afraid. The Lord repeatedly tells us not to be afraid, but to put our confidence and faith in Him. Why should we be afraid of people, and why would we put our confidence in someone who will fail us. It's not even that people cannot help us at times, but they are imperfect people who will not be able to see all the future events. We cry out to Him in our need every day, and He knows our innermost desires. Let us continually focus on the truth that God is for us and not against us as we walk with Him. There is no challenge that cannot be overcome by our God. The work has been finished, and now the difficulty comes from waiting upon the Lord. But there is a great assurance while we wait!

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39
